Get guest posts for your blog, and tour your books for free!

Magic Appreciation Blog Tours is an exclusive feature for members of the Magic Appreciation Tour. How it works is simple, but what it does for you is magical:

  • Get access to free guest posts: You receive a notice when a fellow author is looking for blogs to host a guest post or interview. You aren't obligated to respond in any way, but if you could use an extra post for your blog, all you have to do is contact the author and let him/her know.
  • Tour your books for free: Magic Appreciation Blog Tours is a free service for all Magic Appreciation Tour members. If you want to do a blog tour to promote your book, the blog tours mailing list makes it easy to get in contact with other authors who would love to help you.
  • Exchange posts on compatible blogs: Every member of the Magic Appreciation Tour is a magical fantasy author. Whether you go on tour or host someone else, you can rest assured that the posts are relevant and the audiences are compatible.

What's the catch?

There is no catch…well okay, there's one: you must have a blog! We see the MABT as a blog post exchange system. Each of us hosts blog posts for the other participants in the hope that they will do the same for us when we go on tour.

Joining Magic Appreciation Blog Tours (MABT) is completely optional and you can unsubscribe at any time. You do not have to participate in MABT in order to list your books on the Magic Appreciation Tour. But really, you have nothing to lose. You only get an email from the MABT list when a fellow author goes on tour. You can respond to that email or simply discard it.

How do I sign up?

When you register for the Magic Appreciation Tour and create your member profile, you'll see a check box for the Magic Appreciation Blog Tours. All you have to do is check that box, and you are subscribed to the list!

You can also easily subscribe to the MABT list and unsubscribe from it through the Magic Appreciation Tour membership area. Just log in and check the MABT list option to subscribe, or uncheck it to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe using a link at the bottom of every email you receive from the MABT list.

How does it work?

The heart of the MABT is a simple email list. When a member goes on tour, we send out a tour notice to all MABT subscribers.

Subscribers who are interested in hosting the touring author respond to the notice and sign up for a tour date. There's no obligation to host: if you aren't able to offer space on your blog during the requested time period, you just delete the email.

When you are ready to do your own blog tour, use the Contact page to submit the information about your tour. Your request should include the following information:

  • The name of your tour
  • The promotional goal of your tour (e.g. to promote a new release)
  • The dates you would like to tour. It's okay if this is a date range rather than specific dates. To maximize your potential for getting participants, we recommend that your date range be from 2 to 8 weeks.
  • Your email address and/or a link to a page where hosting authors can sign up to be part of your tour
  • The types of posts you are interested in doing (e.g. interview, guest post, book giveaway, etc.)

That's it! It's easy, it's free, and you can bow out at any time.
